    This is a Historical Society Vintage/Antique Talisman Picture Puzzle:  Wooden Jig-Saw Puzzle--  Titled "The Sierras" made of 3/16" Plywood.  100+ Pieces.  Complete with 3 Replacements (See image #12).
    Original Box Titled Talisman:  Product of Philadelphia Branch of "Shut-In" Society 21st & Arch Streets, Phila., Pa.
    Random, Cut on the Color Line with several shapes:  Owl, Native American, Rabbit, Plane, Bird, Squirrel, and Sword.  T
    he puzzle is in Very Good Condition.

    NOTE:
    The Shut-In Society incorporated in 1885, headquartered in New York City.  The purpose was to bring comfort and mental strength to those shut-in from the outer world by physical suffering or disease.
    Another Talisman, Phila. Chapter of Shut-In Society Puzzle is on display at The Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, N.Y.
    This puzzle was among a large collection from an advanced private collector's estate.  Each of her puzzles was personally categorized, evaluated, numbered, and catalogued.  Her original photograph is included along with her personal hand written notes and evaluation of this puzzle.
